Good morning, readers! Trudy from HotPatterns has generously offered to give away a copy of HotPattern’s new Layer Cake Tee pattern to one lucky CSC reader:

HotPatterns Athleisure Layer Cake Tee
Inspired by an Anthropologie top, here’s the description of this new pattern, in Trudy’s own words:
Layering is one of the secrets to a truly fashion forward look, so let your T do all the work for you in this layered beauty, perfect for all those tissue and lightweight knits, especially bamboo, modal, silk and rayon knits with a little stretch and a lot of drape. This one *will* also work in heavier knits like French terry, interlock and lightweight ponte or sweatshirting, but please proceed cautiously to avoid a bulky silhouette!
Relaxed-fit dolman sleeved pull-on knit top has an inserted wrap-over cowl neckline, and an inverted center back pleat. Top features a contrast V-neck faux-tank insert at the neck, plus contrast double-layer lower sleeves and a double layered hemline with a gentle frill.
This super-cool T is going to take your casual outfits to the next level…make this in different textures of your favorite solid color and teamwith matching or contrast yoga or track pants for a modern post-workout or lounging outfit, or try it in contrast colors and/or prints to wear with your favorite classic, skinny, bootcut or boyfriend jeans for a super-cool off-duty look.
To enter to win, simply leave a comment on this post explaining why you’d like to win a copy of this pattern. Using a random number generator, we’ll pick a winner Monday (Feburary 16th) evening.

Congratulations Joy!
Thanks for giving me a change to win this pattern. This would be the perfect summer T-shirt for me. It works on jeans in light blue but also my back trousers in pink.
I love working with knits. This cowl neck top would be great!
I’d love to challenge myself to work with knits using this pattern.
I love layering and this pattern looks to be right where its at! Still getting a grip on knits, but I’m not afraid to try. I would love to also try this modern pattern. Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
Right now, it’s all about layers, so I would love to have this pattern. Thanks.
I would love to try this pattern and make myself some new shirts for spring! Thank you!
Layering is hard and I would love a pattern that would do it for me!
I have tried to duplicate this layered style…some professional help would be appreciated!
My wardrobe & my style need a refresh – would love to give this pattern a go
This looks like a really interesting top! I’ve neve tried anything from Hot Patterns before.
I love the CSC blog.
I love the comfy casual look of this top and Hot Patterns makes quality patterns!
I love Hot Patterns style. I would make this in tissue knits and lace.
I’m ALWAYS looking for the perfect top, particularly cowl necks so this could add to my repertoire of test garments!
This looks like a great pattern, one that could be dressed up worn casually, I love the ability to choose. Thank you =)
I’d like to win because I need to beef up my wardrobe. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love this pattern. It’s actually the first time I’ve looked at a hot patterns pattern and thought I must buy that!
I would like to win this pattern because it falls into the “need to see it worked up a few times or have the pattern given to me before I’d make it” category. I know that is lame, but its true.
Love this look! I’d love to win, as I just purged my closet because of weight gain due to illness and required meds. I needs new tops and this style is awesome. Already have lots of knits in the stash ready to go, too!
Love this pattern! And would like to win it because I have been thinking about how to create a layered look like this out of one of my existing patterns. Even if I don’t win, I’ll be buying this pattern!
I would love to win this pattern. This would help me elevate my weekend wardrobe – that is, being comfortable without looking homeless.
This is definitely my new look!
I love the neckline on this. Would love to learn how to make my own clothes.
I would love to win this as I need to give my wardrobe a fresh modern look
I’ve never used an indie pattern before. This would be a nice opportunity to try one. Very Artsy look
What a pretty Tee! Would love to try to make it! Thank you for the give away!
I’d love to win. I’ve never used Hot Patterns and I’d love to give them a try!
wow, what a cute top. and so versatile too. thank you for the chance. 🙂
I always have to layer. This top could add color and style to my wardrobe. Hot flash? Toss it on a chair. Chilly? Slip it back on. My life! ?❄️
I think that will be a perfect top for Brisbane autumn/winter days. I have never used a Hot Patterns before so this would be nice… got some nice stripes I want to use. A great design that isn’t the usual, done a million times before. Thanks
The Layer Cake Tee looks like it’s going to be a Hot Pattern and Trudy-fab, where you can have your cake and eat it!
As a fan of knits and a newbie sewing bee, the Tee offers so many variations – I can see it becoming a firm favourite and being made many times, a Trudy-Hot Pattern indeed!
I’m in the middle of losing weight – LOTS of weight – so I’m looking ahead for clothes I can make as I lose the weight. I love the way this one drapes and would relish the chance to make it!
I love the way Trudy’s patterns fit me and are always fashionable. Trying to up my casual wardrobe. Please pick me!!!!!!!!
This pattern is screaming, “Anna, make me 3D! You can do it!!”
My imagination already has the fabrics chosen and ready to go, lol.
It looks like a fun and flattering top.
Please enter me ?
I’d like to win to try this style.
Looks like a great pattern to ease back in to seeing.
In June, I will retire from 25 years of teaching high school. My hubby has planned a fabulous trip to Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and cruise back to the states. I need an entirely new wardrobe! I will finally have time to sew and I think this layered T will look great on my curvy figure.
Wow, this is a look I’ve been curious about but not sure whether it would suit me. I would love to be able to try it out?
Why do
I’d like to win this pattern because IT and Trudy are AMAZEBALLS!!! Of course ???
I NEED this pattern! PLEEZE! I just spent 2 hours looking through every pattern book at my local fabric store and found nothing this style. I am going to try to create my own dress pattern(Yikes!) as a result. This pattern would be wonderful!
Entering because… well… you can never have too many patterns!
I’m entering because I love the style, and because I have only used a couple of Hot Patterns. I sew “regular” sizes, but am very thick through the middle and think that this is a style that would work really well for me.
How exciting! I would very much love to have this pattern so I can make my daughter a few of these shirts. She has a hard time finding things to fit her pear shape. She likes a layered look. Also, she tends to get ink on herself at art school so she always needs new shirts.
What a great giveaway. I’m loving the slouchy neckline on this!
I really need to take my look to the next level!
I love sewing. I love layering. I love cowl necklines. What an awesome idea for one shirt.
Looks like a great layered shirt pattern choice! Love it!!
Oh that new Hot Patterns top is HOT…..I’d love to win it….put my name in the pot please!
What a fun top! I’d love to sew this one.
