But really into buttoned-up shirts lately!”
- Bundle #2 – Tracy ” Jersey tops are my favourite thing to sew!”

Definitely knit tops! Mostly tees. I switch it up a lot with varying necklines and sleeve lengths. I’m an apple shape with large biceps and find I get a much better fit than RTW.
I like sewing dresses mostly.
Dresses of course!
I like sewing coats.
I also like sewing separates as they are easier to fit.

Ooh! Dresses! I love how I can get them to fit me, and I wear them to work every day. A dress project has a high probability of success for me, but anything else has to start with a good muslin and loads more time. I feel I’ve grown complacent, though, so I’m trying to branch out.
I love to sew knit tops. I am really wanting to try out the Harrison.
I like to sew tops and jackets/cardis. I basically wear black pants or jeans all the time, tops are the only thing that change. Love this blog, it has been so helpful. I really like the Winter/Holiday pack..
I like to sew t-shirts.
I sew a lot of dresses because that’s what I like to wear, but I really enjoy sewing any kind of garment with a collar. To me, they are a little tricky, but it’s like putting together a puzzle and the more precise I can be, the more satisfied I am with it in the end.
I like to sew jackets & dresses. Pattern selection 2 is the one I like
I like sewing dresses – since I wear one to work most days….
Im obsessed with sewing shirt dresses!
I love to sew skirts, particularly circle skirts. They are so pretty!
Thank you so much for all that you do here with this collective. It’s a breath of fresh air and so empowering! I enjoy sewing with knits and love making leggings and t shirts for my children! I’ve also enjoyed making knickers!! I loved the Appleton dress (thank you Jenny!) but want to expand my sewing into woven dresses.
Thank you again. This is so wonderful! I am loving every post and every comment!
A recent weight gain has brought me back to sewing after an absence of more than 30 years. I just hate to shop for RTW cloths that never quite fit! I’m still trying to figure out what suites my body best and is comfortable to wear all day. So for me tunics are the easiest and favourite make (I’m getting into the lingo!). I’m also giving Colette’s Moji pants a go. I don’t think that pattern is made for older, rounder bodies. I’ve made several alterations to wrangle that pattern into something that fits After two goes, I think I’m getting closer. If anyone knows of a pant pattern that doesn’t need too many adjustments, please let me know!
I’m an older apple shape, & I found a Burda pattern that fit me pretty well. One little wedge in the seat, & I’m good to go. It’s for wovens, but I’ve used it for stretch fabric, too. It’s Burda Super Easy, #6859. I like the wide leg version, but it has a skinnier version in the pattern too.
I hope this helps, Lauri
I prefer wide-leg pants in the summer, and narrow pants in the winter to wear with boots. I’ll give the Burda pattern a try. Thank you!
You’re welcome, happy sewing!
Mens dress and casual shirts
I love to sew Halloween costumes!
Now that I have a knit pants pattern that fits really well, that is my favorite to sew. However, I need to expand my repertoire to include some tops and jackets. The fit for these is more difficult for me due to my apple shape. Love getting these blogs!
I enjoy sewing all sorts of garments, however I like the satisfaction of sewing a whole look in one dress.
I love to sew denim skirts! Probably because I like to wear them so much. I’ve made many different styles.
Favorite garment to sew are loose, flowy tops.
A basic knit skirt–2 rectangles and an elastic casing, in exactly the fabric-of-the-moment. Nearly instant gratification!
I love to sew sweatshirt… A quick and yet very pleasant sew! Thank you for this week, I discovered more about simplicity patterns!
I love to sew pants! I enjoy the whole process and can achieve a much better fit than RTW pants.
My favourite thing to sew are dreesses.
My favourite things to sew are dresses.
So far I’ve only really made a couple of skirts, but really want to expand into tops and dresses 🙂
I’d prefer to only enter the giveaway for the first pattern pack.
Thanks for the blog and the giveaway 🙂
I’m just starting to sew clothing so I don’t have a ton of experience but skirts are so far what I love most!
I love to sew dresses they generally don’t require buttonholes ! If I were to win the grouping with pattern 8258 is most appealing.
I like to sew skirts. You have a new outfit quickly. I would like to try more dresses.
Tops and dresses! I am very much interested in Simplicity Winter/Holiday collection!
I have to say that, reviewing my recent makes, I’d have to say button down shirts! I love incorporating unusual elements like a different collar or a pleated panel for the lower back section (with my best ever flat fell seam ?)
I’ve only just started sewing clothes again – and I have to say I’m in love with the fact I can sew T shirts that are long enough so I don’t get a draft around my middle! I’m planning on sewing some work shirts next as they’ve been impossible to find. So currently it’s tops (but I have plans for dresses…..)
I love to sew dresses because I then have a complete outfit to wear. I also love all the different sewing processes involved in making dresses, e.g. inserting a zip, facings, inserting sleeves. I’m not a frequent sewer but when I do have the time to sew, I really like to immerse myself in the project as I can then get into quite a mindful zone and find that really therapeutic. The more complex the garment, the more immersed I seem to become. In these different ways, dresses tick ALL the boxes for me.
I love dresses. They are fun and easy to make, and now that I can make them fit me, I’ve discovered they are also super fun and comfy to wear!
I am still learning, but I love to make things with pockets and I’m trying to incorporate them into everything I make. My challenge is to have a home sewn wardrobe eventually.
Thanks.
Julia
I’m trying out sewing again, after a 28 year hiatus, so its too soon to say. I want to sew pants, t-shirts and tunics that fit and are comfortable. I’d like to give a dress a try, since I’ve given up on them because of fit problems.
I love sewing tops for work, but I bought some lovely embroidered suede effect fabric on holiday recently, so am thinking skirt/jacket …
I don’t have a favorite thing to sew yet because I just getting back into garment sewing again, since high school, but what I need most are tops & pants, although I love looking at dress patterns.
Thank you for the chance to win these great patterns!
I love sewing dresses, so easy to get dressed in the morning!
I actually really love to make bags. I realize that’s not really a garment but a good bag s can make you happy AND look put together. Otherwise, I love tunics, and need more patterns!
At the moment its jersey dresses for work (namely the Appleton).
I think for me it is dresses. I find them more enjoyable to sew and in one item, I have a whole new look.
*Pack 1 please*
I like to sew blouses and tops of all kinds
I love sewing things for my kids and they are mostly shirts and dresses. When I get to sew for me I love to sew dresses as my lifestyle dictates that I wear jeans (which are also fun to sew) and shorts. Were I to win a package, I’d pick package number one please.
Whilst it causes me no end of headaches, my favourite is to sew trousers! Made Ginger Jeans recently and enjoyed it a lot.
My fav thing to Sew are dresses with structure!
My favoarite garment to sew are well fitting stretch jeans.
