I love to sew well fitting garments. I’m not always successful but I try. I currently have a TNT knit dress that I’ve used to create a top which thrills me no end. While I can sew just about anything I always relish challenging myself to new things. I’ve taken Susan Khalje’s class on Craftsy which I recommend to everyone just to up their sewing game.
My favourite thing to sew are knit tops, especially Renfrew and Concord. I love that I I can use some fun fabric to make a unique shirt that fits me. I always get compliments on my me-made knit tops. 🙂
I love to sew bags of all kinds; from the huge professional tote to little zip bags. Haven’the yet given clothes a try again,
I have a difficult time finding RTW tops so love sewing tops and dresses that fit my bust best. Thank you this week, exploring Simplicity has been fun!

My favorite garments to sew are dresses, followed closely by skirts.
I’ve only been sewing for about two years now and I don’t have a favorite yet, I’ve made dresses, tops, skirts, stuffed animals, quilts, and even a backpack. It seems like my favorite thing to sew is where I’m learning something new and challenging myself.

Dresses! I wear them to work constantly, I love how easy it is to get dressed, no matching 🙂
I love making tops: blouses, shells, jackets. I tend to keep my bottoms simple and solid colors, so the pizazz goes into the tops

Artful t-shirts, tunics and pants. Artful means I slash up the pattern pieces and insert different fabrics. It’s fun!
I love to sew dresses. They’re dressy enough to wear to work and don’t have to match anything in the morning. I add pockets to all my clothes do they’re comfortable, practical, and dressy.
I prefer to sew skirts and shorts : )

While I enjoy the challenge and sense of accomplishment from more detailed styles, it is hard to beat a nicely fitted princess seamed dress – a long-time favorite.
Simplicity Week has been one of my favorite Curvy Weeks of the year. I started sewing with Simplicity patterns, and I am delighted that they are showing an interest in the curvy sewist. I love sewing any garment that makes people say, “Wow, that’s really cool. Where did you get it? I want one.” I have had a reaction recently with an unstructured Simplicity kimono jacket, which I have made out of a large-scale print challis. While the jacket is easy to sew (requiring no adjustments, no zipper, and no buttons), it is a show stopper. So, I would have to say, at least for now, my favorite garment to sew is an unstructured kimono-style jacket. I’ve made three of them! This may change, however, since i have fallen in love with Andie’s wrap top. I’m thinking of extending it to a maxi dress with capped sleeves! Simplicity, this may be the beginning of a beautiful relationship!
My favourite garment to sew is anything that can be adapted to use colour-blocking or mix-and-match fabrics – usually a tunic or dress, as I always want to put my own creative spin on everything!
I love to sew pants. I’ve invested years learning to perfect the fit and it’s gratifying to see a great finished product. I travel a lot and love to use natural knit fibres.
Well it changes over time, but right now I love sewing jeans out of cotton twill or heavy weight bottom fabric.. So fun to wear a good fitting pair of jeans.
I love sewing blouses, with skirts being a close second.
Pants/jeans. Store bought NEVER fit. I’m only 5’6″ tall and the rise is always too short. Even patterns have very short rises.
Skirts are definitely my fave to sew, but I end up making more shirts.
I like easy to sew patterns that don’t generally require a lot of fitting. I especially like pullover dresses. The last dress I made was a n-pattern ‘pillowcase dress’ out of fabric I had picked up in Antigua in 1990 when on a quilting cruise, when I could still do fun things like that. Unfortunately a pillowcase leaves a lot more exposed than I would normally like when leaving the house! I’ve wanted to try a wrap dress to see how it works though.

Blouses/shirts are my fave. I wear solid color pants, usually black or jeans, and my tops add color to my “fashion palate”.

My favorite items to sew are tops and skirts. I usually combine both pieces to make incredible dresses (evening and day). Most recently I have been making a ton of tops to wear with jeans and leggings since the fall season has arrived.

Right now it is pants only because the patterns are at the stage of use use use because I am totally altered. Bra patterns are saying, me me me, my turn!!!!

I recently was introduced to Stitch Upon Time Patterns. Scrundle wear is amazing for curvy woman. The clothes come in a wide range of sizes are easy to adjust and fit wonderfully. They even have an extensive men’s line of patterns for the guys in our lives. Another fav of mine is peg legs from pirate sewing the go to leggings for all seasons and under tunics, dresses etc. Would really love to try the simplicity patterns to widen my wardrobe, hoping to eventually only have me made clothes.
Gee, I’m sorry to see Simplicity week is over ☹️ I was really loving the articles about the clothes the ladies have sewed using Simplicity patterns! It makes me want to try some of their patterns again so of course I would love to win their pattern packets! I enjoy sewing mostly the basics ( t-shirt tops, jeans, wrap dresses, and etc.) and then purchasing accessories to dress them up or down. Or even making accessories as well.
I love sewing a properly fitted dress, I tan be a challenge being curvy but so gratifying when completed! Thank you for the opportunity to win these pattern packs!
