My favorite garment to sew is dresses. The artsy-er the better!
It’s funny as I love sewing a skirt and making it fit well, but I really don’t wear them very much. I’m much more inclined to toss on a tee and sweatshirt on top of casual pants.
Favorite to make are Cashmerette tops. Most rewarding, however will be pants/jeans. I’ve yet to tackle these, but I need to. I’ve not found business slacks that fit well..
For years I sewed out of necessity, buying bargain fabric and re-using or borrowing patterns. I didn’t enjoy it much mainly because I didn’t know how to alter patterns (pre-internet) and I didn’t have much time to devote to sewing.
Now I sew because I want to and I can afford nicer fabric. I enjoy sewing now, choosing the patterns and fabrics I love, and taking the time to learn new techniques and hunting down the tools and supplies to enhance my projects.

I like to sew any kind of top-t shirts, blouses, shirts

Trousers and jeans, RTW never fit properly! Also knickers (panties) , and leggings for my granddaughter.
I love all kinds of sewing, but I think tops the most then skirts and dresses.

I love to sew and wear dresses, especially in the colder months with stockings…
I love to sew t-shirt dresses in knit fabric. So comfortable, fast and easy. Can be dressed up for evening or just fun with boots and a sweater.
I love sewing everything, but mostly tops and dresses. Simplicity patterns are not available here so it would be fun to try them.
I love to sew unstructured jackets with large pockets. I wear it like an old-fashioned duster aka house dress or apron cover up.

I’m still kind of new to garment sewing, but my favorite garment, so far, are scrub tops. I like having one-of-a-kind tops that actually FIT.

I love to sew ALL the things heehee. But my most frequent and loved makes are PJs, yoga pants, dresses (I’ve never been able to buy off the rack due to my height and fitting issues!) and I love making skirts, my favourite being the denim skirt I designed and made last year!

I like sewing blouses, and would love to find the perfect pattern. I’m quite new at sewing garments, but big on quilting! And, by the way, I enjoyed reading the Curvy Patterns this week.
I love sewing dresses, because I want to wear the styles I like in fabrics and colours I love… and the only way to do that is to make it myself! Plus sewing for myself is better value and fit than retail. Win, win!
I LOVE sewing tops and tunics – RTW do not make many lovely tops to fit my shape so therefore I can make and stake my own style!
Dresses. They used to be my least favourite thing to buy RTW, and now they’re pretty much all I wear. Sewing for your size and shape really is life changing!

I’m still, mainly, sewing homewares. I’m only now becoming comfortable with sewing for myself. I’ve sewn a wonderful jacket and a killer skirt that people compliment and actually ask where I bought. I’m more confident within myself because I’m working out what to sew that works for my body type. It’s dead exciting. I think dresses and skirts that can easily be thrown on are my dream.
Even though the detailing of tailored pieces (shirts, shirtdresses, etc) gets tedious, I love the finished product. Oh and Hobbit themed Moneta dresses 🙂
I love to sew tunic tops, though still struggle with the LBA. More practice required.

I love the second pack (that 8254 is lovely!) – my favourite garment to sew is a tunic. I wear that length all the time with leggings so I’m always on the lookout for a new style. I turn dress and top patterns into tunics all the time (which is what I would do with 8254) 🙂
I love to sew dresses because they’re quick and easy!
I like to sew dresses but lie wearing tunic tops best. Sometimes a dress pattern converts to a tunic. Your reviews are so helpful and encourage me to try new things.
I’m new to sewing so I don’t have a favorite thing to sew yet. I’m looking forward to trying some of these patterns as my first!! These reviews were all amazing and gave me the push I needed to overcome my fear of starting!
So far I’ve only made tops, but am looking to graduate to dresses to supplement my work wear wardrobe. I’d love to have the chance to try the patterns in pack 2.
Oooh I love the look of 8258. Pockets! I’ve been wanting to make a shift type dress like this. Shall go on the to buy list!
My favourite garment to make are dresses. It’s taken me a while to properly work out how to fit my bust, belly and behind. Now that I have I love making dresses. They instantly make me feel feminine and pretty. More so than skirts.
And I love making them because I know that they fit properly and I’m going to look good in them.
I love sewing dresses, knit dresses especially. I am such a girly girl and they hug my curves.
I enjoy all clothing types and styles. Lately my favorite is athletic top and bra combination.
Although it depends very much on the pattern, I usually prefer to make separates, as it is so much easier to alter the proportionality of construction and placement of details for a top and a skirt, than it is for a dress. When you are as short as I am – 150cm – every cm makes a difference.
I love sewing and wearing dresses. I switch to pants when the cold weather arrives (Canadian). This year my goal is to make some dresses and wear them with tights.
I love to sew dresses! Especially from simplicity as I find their patterns require less alterations for me than the others in the big 4 group. Simplicity is also a special treat for me when I cross the border as I live in Canada and they are no longer carrier ed here.
This is big news to me. where do you live? I’m Canadian and see them everywhere (Kitchener area) unless I am totally out of touch (always a possibility).
Wow! Dropped into Fabricland today to see if they carried them in Kitchener….everything but! I am so shocked. The staff were so busy with last minute Halloween sewers so did not get a chance to ask. I am really behind the times.

This has been a great week from you ladies. I love how it was introduced Monday morning that this was Curvy Simplicity Week and looked forward daily to learning all that much more about Simplicity. So thanks very much for all of this.
My favorite thing to sew would be summer tops and blouses. I’m always looking for a new style, new pattern and, of course, new fabric.

My favorite garment to sew is dresses. As I work from home I like dresses made from quirky print fabrics. But, now I am job hunting so I need to make some business professional dresses. The second pattern pack has great options for work outfits. Thanks!
Dress – a complete outfit usually few alterations to be made and sews up quick
