Greetings, fellow curvy sewists!
It’s been a while since the last time that we asked for reader input on what you wanted to see on the CSC blog. As we wind down our Curvy Year of Sewing challenge, the editorial staff has started discussing what sorts of posts we want to work on for 2019.
Please fill out the survey below and let us know what curvy sewing topics YOU want to read about in the coming year. Also, if there’s a guest post that you’d be interested in writing or a pattern that you’d like to review for us, please let us know that in the survey, too!
We’ll post the results and any trends that emerge in early January. Thank you!

2 suggestions already posted – I completely agree with and for exactly the same reasons.
Dec 12 – Trudy Regarding 3/4 sleeves
Dec 12 – Wendy Regarding raglan sleeves and dropped shoulders.
How about styles flattering to vertically challenged ladies … .
Taller ladies can always go for statuesque … but that is a difficult order for someone 5’1″ & 5’2″

I would love to see a bit of refashioning – taking existing garments and tailoring to make the fit spot on or the garment unique. I know there are a number of refashioned websites but I feel they don’t often give much focus on the curvy sewist

Lingerie – can’t get enough of slips, babydolls, robes and other sexy stuff!
Trudi says
I would love to see blouses with 3/4 sleeves that end below the elbow. I am tired of rolling up my sleeves. How about a dress without a defined waist and belt, I really do not like that look on me.
Wendy says
Raglan and dropped shoulder sleeves are so popular right now, but I always feel that on me (& others) they are unflattering. The extra fabric adds bulk and looks sloppy to me, and I think that the downward slope of the raglan line pulls the eye outward and emphasizes the smallness of my shoulders compared to my hips. Instructions on how to turn a dropped shoulder into a shoulder-width shoulder would be welcome, as well as how to better fit raglan sleeves.

Fabric stores in my area cater to quilters. If I want garment fabric I pretty much have to go online, but it’s difficult to judge the hand of fabric through descriptions…how about some fabric buying guides and reviews?

This is my biggest issue too – just didn’t think of it when I was filling out the survey.

I would like to see all kinds of adjustments to any and all patterns and also any and all kinds of sewing patterns. Sewing how to’s on sewing metallic and sequined fabric and how to sew faux fur. How to make patterns larger. In general anything and everything to do with sewing.

I would like to see some articles illustrating common fit issues and solutiopns, and also some bra-making posts. Thank you.

DItto what Lynn said about fitting. I’d sew a lot more for myself if I knew I could get the fit right.

I’m not sure if this is the survey, but I will tell you what I think. I like the reviews of patterns that you do. I find them to be very helpful. I would like as many as you can stand. One note- I wish people would not review and show an item in black- it does not photograph well and you can’t see the details and so renders the review useless. Otherwise keep on keeping on. I am so pleased that I found you all.

Please continue the Pants posts. Will you please consider a couple of months on the process of fitting? Fit for Art with Rae Cumbie has great directions, videos, and classes for fitting. Cashmarette has wonderful videos and classes on her website and on Craftsy. Some of the questions posted regarding fit would be resolved by taking a class or two regarding fitting. When we have an overall process for resolving fitting issues, then forward progress in sewing for ourselves and others is possible. I would enjoy more content regarding fitting instead of just projects.
I enjoy reading the posts on CSC
