These pictures are so encouraging. I have been sewing for quite a while, but mostly for my 6 girls, because it is so much easier. First, because they are closer to regular sizes and second because I can fit them almost perfectly, since they can model the muslins/clothes for me. I have tried sewing for myself, but because I am soooo far from pattern sizes and need much alterations and it’s so hard to do those on myself ;( But I am almost out of clothes and trips to the store are useless, since RTW doesn’t fit my either. Also I am constantly hoping to loose more weight and then I will sew for myself. This website is a wonderful reminder that I can sew for myself NOW and still look good. Thanks for the encouragment.
SewManju’s coat! Wowza.
Mrs. Hughes, Mrs. Hughes, you never let anyone down. I love the reveals every time. But for some reason, you along with Mother Tucker Sews both inspire me the most. Your choices of fabrics, and fabric combos are classically me. I am 58 yrs. old have been built like both of you my entire life, and have sewn most of it but rarely sew for myself. Until now. Thanks to all you ladies here at the Curvy Sewing Collective.
Thank you!! We’d love to see what you’re making! 🙂
Unfortunately lately it has been curtains for my brothers rv. Lol! Lots of windows in the living and kitchen space.
I look forward to these reviews. I’ve found some new blogs to look at. Such great finishes.
Especially smitten with
Mamu Design Carmen shirt by Fretteit,
By Hand London Polly top by Small Seams.
and April Rhodes Staple Dress by Stitchy Squirrel
Thank you.
Oh my gosh, Monseratt looks so gorgeous in that bra! Like a lingerie advert.
Lovely selection of garments and enthusiatic, happy colors! I love it when plus sized women embrace the “plus”!
