Hi readers!
It’s PARTY TIME here at the CSC and we’re busily sewing and celebrating this month for the holidays. Continuing with Jessica’s post with ideas for patterns, I’m here to inspire you with FABRIC!
Pajama Party!
If your preference is to lounge around in luxurious fabrics to match the baubles on your tree, perhaps you’d like pajamas sewn from silk charmeuse or flannel backed satin or to drape yourself in a velour robe.
If you prefer to be comfy and warm, maybe some pajamas in flannel, fleece or a jersey knit in fun prints are in order.
Work Party!
How about sewing a stretch velvet dress, twill trousers or a wool skirt for a holiday get together at work?
Casual Party!
Whether you want to be understated or festive, there are so many fabrics to choose from for a casual party outfit. Perhaps a merino wool sweater, a holiday cotton dress or a floral rayon jumpsuit?
Intimate Party!
Treat yourself by sewing a luxe bra and panty set or a beautiful slip.
Fancy Dress Party!
Well, this is my favorite category and I made myself a silk velvet dress this year for our celebrations. Velvet is definitely high on my list for a special occasion dress as is a luscious silk or a beautiful guipure lace.
For more eye candy, how about a dress with a embroidered tulle overlay, understated in wool crepe or a fabulous outfit in silk crepe lame.
I hope you’ve been inspired for some holiday sewing, whether you’re dancing the night away dressed to the nines or snuggling on the couch staying warm and toasty. 🙂
